When Hiruzen became aware of Orochimaru’s human experimentation and attempts to resurrect the dead through forbidden means, Orochimaru was forced to abandon the village or face execution. He orchestrated the invasion of Konoha alongside the Hidden Sand Village as a demonstration of his power and his contempt for his former village.
