Hades Arc — Elysion Chapter

The Bronze Saints reach Elysion in their God Cloths and confront Hypnos, Thanatos and finally Hades' true body in a final battle that decides the fate of humanity.

Elysion is the shortest of the Hades sub-chapters and the most cosmologically charged. The Bronze Saints, granted divine God Cloths bathed in Athena's blood, face the twin gods of sleep and death — Hypnos and Thanatos — before reaching Hades himself, who has shed his mortal disguise and stands as the true ruler of the dead. Kurumada compresses an enormous amount of mythological reframing into these final chapters. The Bronze Saints' victory comes not through superior power but through the sustained refusal of five mortal warriors to accept that the gods' will cannot be opposed. Athena's shield, her staff, and the act of awakening godlike Cosmo in mortal bodies are all framed as the violation of cosmic order rather than its restoration — a final argument that humanity's right to its own future cannot be granted by gods, only seized. The arc closes with Athena returned to the world, the Bronze Saints scattered and gravely wounded, and Hades sealed once more for another era.
