A New King and the Feast
Arc Summary
Laios is bound to the demon and uses its power to defeat it from within, Falin is restored, and the survivors reckon with the cost of the dungeon and the life that follows.
In the climactic resolution, Laios accepts the demon's bargain in order to outwit it, becoming the new king of the dungeon so he can consume the Winged Lion itself, the one desire he can satisfy because his appetite is honest rather than endless. With the demon defeated, the dungeon's curses unravel, Falin is finally freed from the chimera and restored to human form, and the buried kingdom's long stasis comes to an end. The final chapters trade spectacle for quiet aftermath: the surviving cast disperses, the surface world adjusts to a dungeon stripped of its supernatural engine, and the party reflects on hunger, grief and belonging. Ryoko Kui closes the story by returning to its first principle, that sharing a meal is what binds people together, giving the long descent a warm and human ending that ties together the comedy, horror and tenderness that defined the journey.
