The hidden ruler of the dungeon, the Lunatic Magician, reveals himself and takes Falin, fusing her body with the slain red dragon to create a towering winged chimera that he commands. The party is scattered and must regroup against an enemy who can resurrect the dead endlessly and warps the dungeon's geography at will. This arc shifts the tone from culinary adventure toward genuine horror and tragedy, as the heroes realize that saving Falin a second time may require destroying the chimera and consuming its flesh to break the curse binding her. Themes of appetite, mortality and the boundary between humans and monsters come to the foreground. Marcille's longing to halt the death of those she loves makes her dangerously sympathetic to the Magician's philosophy, setting up the moral conflict that drives the finale. The party's bonds and Laios's strange empathy for monsters are tested as the stakes turn existential.
