Inori Atsuki, a young girl with Olympic dreams, meets Tsukasa Enomoto, a failed skater turned construction worker, and convinces him to become her coach despite his reluctance.

Inori Atsuki is a young girl with extraordinary dreams of Olympic glory in figure skating, possessing exceptional drive, determination, and genuine passion for the sport but lacking formal training, professional coaching, and the financial resources that most serious skaters enjoy and depend on. She has pursued skating through whatever means available, learning partially through observation of professional skaters, practicing on local rinks whenever possible, driven by pure love for the sport despite her significant disadvantages compared to other serious competitors. Her family supports her dreams enthusiastically but cannot afford professional coaching, elite-level training facilities, or the financial investments that serious figure skating demands constantly. Many young skaters with similar passion but limited resources accept practical limitations and pursue skating recreationally rather than competitively pursuing Olympic dreams. Tsukasa Enomoto is a former figure skater who quit the sport after experiencing injury and the crushing disappointment of unrealized competitive dreams, currently working in construction and seemingly resigned to leaving his skating life entirely behind. He appears to have accepted his status as a former athlete with unrealized potential, viewing his construction work as preferable to constantly confronting what he failed to achieve in skating. When Inori encounters Tsukasa and recognizes his skating background through his movement, bearing, and the way he moves with practiced grace, she persistently seeks him as her coach despite his reluctance and explicit resistance to returning to skating at all. Tsukasa initially refuses her requests firmly, believing his skating career is behind him and that returning to the sport will only bring additional pain and regret about his past failures. However, Inori's extraordinary determination and genuine passion gradually wear down his resistance through persistence and sincerity. Her refusal to accept his refusal demonstrates the strength of her commitment to skating and to convincing him to help her succeed where he failed. Tsukasa finds himself drawn into helping her, initially through small acts of advice that gradually expand into formal coaching arrangement. By conclusion, Tsukasa reluctantly agrees to coach Inori, setting their partnership in motion.
