Shoya cautiously reconnects with old classmates and builds new friendships, navigating unresolved guilt, awkward reunions and the resurfacing of past resentments.

As Shoya and Shoko spend more time together, the story widens to reassemble the cast from elementary school and introduce new figures. Shoya reconnects with Tomohiro Nagatsuka, who becomes a steadfast companion, and encounters Naoka Ueno again, who is openly infatuated with Shoya yet remains hostile toward Shoko and unrepentant about the past. Miyoko Sahara, who had been kind to Shoko years earlier before being driven away, reappears, while Miki Kawai cultivates an image of blameless innocence that obscures her own role in the bullying. Satoshi Mashiba, a principled newcomer, befriends the group. The characters attempt to form a fragile friendship circle, but their unresolved histories make every interaction tense. Long-buried resentments, denials and differing accounts of who was responsible for the bullying surface repeatedly, often erupting into painful confrontations. The manga refuses easy reconciliation, showing that simply gathering the old group together cannot erase what happened. This section explores how guilt is distributed and avoided, how memory is self-serving, and how genuine relationships require honesty about the harm each person caused or permitted.
