College and After High School

Follow-up volumes split the cast between Yui's group at university and Azusa keeping the high school club alive, extending the story beyond graduation.

After the core four-volume run, kakifly continued the story across two parallel spin-off storylines published in Manga Time Kirara and Manga Time Kirara Carat. The "College" thread follows Yui, Mio, Ritsu and Mugi as they settle into life at a women's university, where they once again gravitate toward a Light Music Club and meet new friends, including the members of a rival band. Their dynamic remains intact even as they navigate the freedoms and uncertainties of student life, proving that the bonds forged in high school carry forward. The "Highschool" thread stays at Sakuragaoka, where Azusa, alongside Yui's younger sister Ui and their friend Jun, works to reform and sustain the Light Music Club, recruiting new underclassmen and stepping into the senior role she once watched the older girls occupy. Together these continuation storylines round out the K-On! manga, letting the series explore both the next chapter for the original cast and the way a beloved club passes from one generation of students to the next.
