However, Himmel, being human, ages normally while Frieren, as an elf with centuries of lifespan, barely changes. When Himmel passes away peacefully after a long life, Frieren attends his funeral and is struck by an unexpected realization—despite their decade together fighting the Demon King, she barely knew him. She didn't understand his dreams, his fears, or truly listen to him during their journey.
